WANA (Mar 19) – Seyed Abbas Araghchi criticized Emmanuel Macron for what he described as silence and inaction regarding the joint U.S.-Israeli war against Iran.

Araghchi said Macron “did not utter a single word” condemning the conflict, and remained silent when Israel allegedly targeted fuel storage facilities in Tehran, exposing millions to toxic materials.

He added that Macron’s recent “expression of concern” came not after attacks on Iran’s gas infrastructure, but only following Iran’s retaliatory actions, calling the stance “regrettable.”

Macron, however, said earlier that “attacks on infrastructure must stop.” In a statement following strikes on gas facilities in Iran, the French president said he had spoken with the Emir of Qatar and Donald Trump.

He emphasized that attacks on civilian infrastructure—particularly energy and water facilities—must cease without delay, adding that civilian populations, their essential needs, and energy security must be protected from further military escalation.
