WANA (Aug 01) – With structural reforms in Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) nearing completion, informed sources report the establishment of a new body called the “Defense Council.”

 

This newly formed council will be tasked with strategic responsibilities related to the country’s defense policies. Its organizational structure is expected to be finalized soon.

 

According to the obtained information, the senior advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Larijani, is likely to be appointed as the new Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council in the coming days.

 

Ali-Akbar Ahmadian, the current Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, is also expected to be assigned several special and strategic national dossiers. These involve critical missions that require high-level coordination and comprehensive management.

 

The Defense Council is regarded as part of a new governance framework in the defense and security sectors of the country.
