WANA (Mar 14) – Following Israeli and U.S. aggressions against Iranian territory and subsequent traffic restrictions in the Strait of Hormuz, India has announced the passage of two of its vessels through the strategic waterway.

Iranian Ambassador Confirms Safe Passage for Indian Ships

Mohammad Fathali, Iran’s Ambassador to India, confirmed the coordination, stating: “We believe that Iran and India are friends. We share common interests. Therefore, we are granting Indian vessels permission to transit through the Strait of Hormuz.”

The Ambassador further emphasized the bilateral cooperation during the current conflict, noting: “As the Iranian Ambassador to India, I can affirm that the Indian government has assisted us in various fields following the outbreak of the war.”

Iran Releases Tankers in Reciprocal Move

According to reports, the safe passage follows a reciprocal arrangement between the two nations. India has reportedly released three Iranian oil tankers seized last month. In exchange, Iran granted permission for two Indian vessels to navigate the Strait of Hormuz.
