Iran Has Rejected Two Ceasefire Messages from Witkoff
WANA (Mar 11) – Iran has so far rejected two messages from Steve Witkoff requesting a ceasefire, according to reports.
In a report published by Western media, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that the unilateral declaration by Donald Trump claiming victory for the United States would not bring the conflict to an end.
The report suggests that even if the United States signals a willingness to stop its attacks, Iran may still choose to continue some form of confrontation or maintain control over shipping seeking to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the report, Iran believes the conflict cannot end unless Trump is shown that the economic, political, and military costs are high enough to make repeating such actions not worthwhile.
Instead, Iran is reportedly insisting on a permanent agreement that would include a commitment from the United States not to attack Iran again.
