Iran Health Ministry Releases Latest Casualty and Damage Figures
WANA (Apr 05) – Iran’s Ministry of Health has released updated figures on casualties and damage to the country’s healthcare system following what it described as U.S.-Israeli attacks, covering the first 37 days of the conflict.
According to the ministry:
- Current hospitalized patients: 480
- Treated and discharged: 32,533
- Healthcare personnel killed: 24
- Ambulances damaged: 41
- Surgeries performed: 1,200
- Injured healthcare personnel: 117
Child casualties and injuries include:
- Children under 5 killed: 17
- Injured under 18: 1,917
- Injured under 2: 68
- Killed under 18: 216
Damage to medical infrastructure includes:
- Emergency bases damaged: 54
- Medical treatment centers damaged: 46
- Health centers damaged: 216
- Hospitals evacuated: 8
Additional figures:
- Women killed: 251
- Women injured: 4,721
The ministry stated that since the start of the conflict (from February 28 to April 5), the provinces of Tehran and Hormozgan have recorded the highest number of fatalities.
