Iran: Hormuz Strait Returns to Restricted Status
WANA (Apr 18) – The spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters announced today that the Strait of Hormuz has returned to its previous state of high-alert restrictions, citing repeated American breaches of faith and ongoing maritime interference.
Following previous agreements and negotiations conducted in good faith, the Islamic Republic of Iran had initially agreed to allow the managed passage of a limited number of oil tankers and commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
However, the spokesperson stated that the United States has continued its history of bad faith by engaging in what he described as “piracy and maritime theft” under the guise of a so-called blockade.
As a result, the management of the Strait of Hormuz has reverted to its prior status, and this strategic waterway is now under the intense management and control of the Armed Forces.
The headquarters further declared that until the United States ends its interference and ensures the complete freedom of transit for vessels traveling both to and from Iranian destinations, the Strait of Hormuz will remain under strict control and will continue in its current restricted state.
