Iran, ICRC Sign Memorandum to Expand Humanitarian Cooperation
WANA (Nov 28) – Saeed Khatibzadeh, Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the Center for Political and International Studies at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Pierre Krähenbühl, Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), in Geneva, where the two sides signed and exchanged a memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding and implementing joint activities.
The memorandum seeks to strengthen dialogue and cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including education and research on international humanitarian law, humanitarian policymaking, health diplomacy, peace and security, and other related fields.
The primary goal of the partnership is to enhance understanding and respect for the principles of international humanitarian law while creating broader opportunities for technical and operational collaboration between the two parties.
