Iran Intelligence Dismantles Armed Cell in Tehran
WANA (Mar 04) – The Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic of Iran has announced the dismantling of an armed cell allegedly linked to U.S. and Israeli interests in Tehran.
The network was identified following public tip-offs and a series of coordinated intelligence and operational measures. The ministry said the group was in the process of planning actions in Tehran under directives from American and Israeli sponsors.
The statement characterized the suspects as operatives connected to the United States and Israel. They were arrested before carrying out any operations by intelligence forces referred to as the “Anonymous Soldiers of Imam Mahdi.”
Authorities reported the seizure of 11 Kalashnikov assault rifles, a significant quantity of ammunition and urban warfare equipment, foreign currency including euros and U.S. dollars, as well as a Starlink satellite internet device.
In its statement, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to countering security threats and emphasized its adherence to the principles of the Islamic Revolution and the guidance of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei. It stressed that efforts to confront attempts to destabilize Iran would continue with determination.
The ministry also called on citizens to report any suspicious activities through designated emergency and intelligence hotlines or via official reporting platforms on domestic messaging applications.
