WANA (Sep 07) – Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence said it had dismantled three organized operational cells affiliated with US-Israeli-backed “terrorist and Takfiri” groups as they were entering the country, before they could carry out any sabotage or terrorist attacks.

The ministry said three suspected terrorists were killed in clashes with security forces, while nine others were arrested.

Suspects Allegedly Trained Abroad

According to the ministry, the arrested suspects had received military, bomb-making and assassination training abroad before attempting to enter Iran covertly. It said they had planned to create insecurity in districts in the southern part of the province and disrupt public safety and stability in the area.

Weapons and Ammunition Seized

The ministry said a significant quantity of weapons and military ammunition had been seized from the arrested suspects. It also announced that security forces had discovered and confiscated a hidden stockpile of light and medium-heavy weapons that had allegedly been smuggled illegally into Iran.
