WANA (Nov 29) – Late last night, several Telegram channels and social media pages circulated claims that 60 Iranian fighter jets had violated Iraqi airspace and that a joint exercise involving the IRGC Quds Force and the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Air Force had been conducted near the Iraqi border. The posts attributed these allegations to Arabic-language outlets such as Al Arabiya and Baghdad News Agency.

The reports, accompanied by “breaking” labels and unclear images, spread quickly across online platforms. Some users also speculated about possible airstrikes against positions belonging to Kurdish separatist groups.

However, thorough reviews of credible regional and international news sources show no verified reports confirming any such incident. The rumors appear to stem from misinterpretation or distortion of recent claims about Israeli fighter jet activity over Iraq—claims that Iraqi officials have already denied.

Brigadier General Reza Khajeh, Deputy for Operations of the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force, also rejected recent rumors alleging that Israeli jets had flown near Iran’s borders, broken the sound barrier, or entered Iranian airspace. “There is no truth to these reports,” he said. “The Iranian people can rest assured that since the 12-day imposed war, no threat has targeted the country’s skies.”

Despite the circulating allegations, according to reports, the situation along the Iran–Iraq border remains calm, and no reliable or confirmed reports indicate any airstrikes, military operations, or drills inside or near the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
