Iran Issues Urgent Evacuation Warning to UAE Residents
WANA (Mar 14) – Iran has issued an urgent warning calling on residents and expatriates in the United Arab Emirates to immediately move away from the vicinity of three strategic ports: Jebel Ali, Khalifa, and Fujairah. The warning explicitly states that these locations could come under attack in the coming hours.
According to the text of the warning, which was published in both Persian and Arabic, residents in the areas marked on the map were instructed to leave the vicinity of Jebel Ali Port in Dubai, Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah Port, along with their surrounding areas, as quickly as possible.
The statement claims that these areas have become “legitimate targets” due to the “presence and concealment of U.S. military forces within civilian facilities,” and warns that they may be struck in the coming hours. It further urges civilians, port workers, and anyone in the vicinity of these facilities to evacuate immediately in order to protect their lives.
The warning comes amid mounting regional tensions and reports from international media of increased instability along the UAE coast. Reuters has reported that, as tensions rise, Iran has threatened to target U.S.-linked sites in the UAE, while operations at Fujairah Port were reportedly disrupted following a drone-related incident. The Associated Press has also described the warning as the first direct Iranian threat of this scale against the UAE’s civilian-commercial infrastructure.
Jebel Ali Port is the largest container port in the Middle East, Khalifa Port is one of the UAE’s main maritime trade arteries, and Fujairah is one of the region’s most important energy and oil export hubs outside the Strait of Hormuz.
Any threat against these three locations could carry immediate consequences not only for the UAE, but also for global supply chains, energy markets, and maritime security across the region. Recent reports of operational disruption at Fujairah and growing concerns over the security of shipping corridors have only heightened the sensitivity of the situation.
