WANA (Aug 15) – The head of Iran’s Judiciary, Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, asserted on Saturday that the Islamic Republic remains the sole sovereign authority over the Strait of Hormuz, dismissing recent statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the strategic waterway.

 

“In reality, Islamic Iran is the owner and ruler of this vital waterway,” Mohseni-Ejei stated in a public message. “We have proven to Trump and his circle on the military battlefield that the Strait of Hormuz is an inseparable part of Iran’s territorial domain, and any adventurism will result in the destruction and defeat of any invading force.”

 

Mohseni-Ejei emphasized that Tehran’s sovereignty over the strait is established under international law and principles of national sovereignty. Addressing the U.S. administration, he added: “Trump and his advisers must know that the boot of arrogance will never step on the Strait of Hormuz.”

 

Directly challenging Washington’s naval capabilities and diplomatic strategy, the Judiciary chief argued that previous U.S. military presence had failed to secure control. “What multi-billion-dollar aircraft carriers could not achieve will not be accomplished through a few tweets and speeches,” Mohseni-Ejei said.
