Iran Launches Six Satellites Annually
WANA (Oct 17) – Iran launches six satellites into orbit each year and has made major strides in satellite carrier technology, according to Vahid Yazdanian, head of the Iranian Space Research Center.
He said the development and launch of fully domestically produced satellites are progressing rapidly, with a promising outlook.
Yazdanian noted that while early satellite efforts in the 1990s were unsuccessful, Iranian scientists succeeded in launching the country’s first satellite in the 2000s.
He added that current satellites focus on improving communications, security, and the national economy, directly impacting citizens’ quality of life.
Despite challenges posed by international sanctions, Yazdanian said Iran has achieved self-sufficiency in space technology.
In recent years, Iran has recorded multiple achievements in the field and continues to strengthen its global position.
