WANA (Aug 31) – Iran’s military has modernized its air defense equipment and expanded the mass production of combat-tested, locally built defense systems, a senior commander announced.

Speaking at an official event, Brigadier General Alireza Elhami, Commander of the Joint Air Defense Headquarters, stated that the country has successfully integrated native technology into its defense apparatus to maintain strategic readiness.

Gen. Elhami claimed that based on standard military metrics, Iran achieved a decisive victory in recent clashes. He attributed the country’s defense capabilities to a combination of political leadership, public support, and a self-reliant military.

Highlighting the practical advantages of domestically developed military technology, Elhami noted that relying on local expertise allows the armed forces to rapidly upgrade, modify, and produce air defense systems across the country without dependence on foreign suppliers.

Addressing the recent public unveiling of new military hardware—which included technology adapted from lessons learned during recent conflicts—the commander framed the developments as a deterrent.

He stated that while Iran aims to maintain operational secrecy around its research, these disclosures are meant to reassure neighboring countries of regional stability while warning potential aggressors.

Gen. Elhami concluded with a warning, stating that any violation of Iranian territory or breach of international commitments would be met with an immediate response from the armed forces.
