WANA (Sep 06) – The Iranian Parliament may soon review an urgent proposal on the country’s potential withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

According to a member of the Parliament’s presiding board, if the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee finalizes its report, it will be presented in tomorrow’s open session and reviewed under triple-urgency procedure. The report could include the option of Iran’s withdrawal from the NPT.

The lawmaker also noted that members of the Guardian Council would attend the parliamentary session to immediately approve the bill if passed, allowing it to be put into effect without delay.

He stressed that this process reflects the firm determination of Parliament and other relevant institutions to adopt reciprocal measures against Western pressure, ensuring that necessary decisions are taken and implemented in the shortest possible time.
