Iran National Football Team Receives Visas for Mexico Trip
WANA (Jun 03) – The members of Iran’s national football team have officially received their visas for travel to Mexico, with players and staff granted an exemption from the fingerprinting process.
Speaking on Wednesday, Iran’s Ambassador to Turkey, Mohammad Hassan Habibollahzadeh, said the necessary arrangements were made to facilitate the visa process while the team was holding its training camp in Antalya.
He explained that under normal procedures, team members would have needed to travel for administrative formalities, a process that could have disrupted their preparations and caused them to miss their friendly match against Mali.
According to the ambassador, discussions were held with the Mexican Embassy in Ankara, which agreed to exempt the Iranian national team from the fingerprinting requirement.
Habibollahzadeh described the decision as a significant step in resolving a major logistical challenge for the team. He added that, following the diplomatic efforts, visas for all members of the Iranian national team were issued on Wednesday and delivered to team officials.
Iran’s national football team is continuing its preparations for upcoming international fixtures and its campaign toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the timely issuance of visas helping ensure a smooth trip to Mexico.
