Iran National Team Delegation to Attend World Cup Under the Name “Minab 168”
WANA (Apr 28) – A meeting of the Cultural Committee for the FIFA World Cup was held with the aim of promoting Iran’s culture, history, and national identity to the international community. During the session, officials announced that Iran’s national football team delegation will participate in the tournament under the name “Minab 168.”
The meeting was chaired by Hojatoleslam Hassan Khani, Deputy Minister for Cultural Affairs and Public Sports Development, and focused on cultural planning for the national team’s presence at the World Cup.
According to decisions made during the session, the Iranian delegation will officially be represented under the title “Minab 168” throughout the global event.
The meeting also reviewed several related initiatives, including the preparation of a cultural package featuring fan merchandise, digital content production through social media platforms, evaluation of the national team anthem, and the formation of a special supporters’ committee for the World Cup.
Officials stressed that the purpose of these measures is to present a positive and authentic image of Iranian culture and national identity during one of the world’s most significant sporting events.
