WANA (Jun 06) – Iran’s national football team has left Turkey and headed to Mexico as it enters the final stage of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

 

The Iranian squad departed its training camp in Antalya, Turkey, at 6:30 p.m. local time on Saturday and boarded a charter flight to Tijuana, where the team will be based during the tournament.

 

Team Melli spent the past 19 days in Antalya conducting intensive training sessions and playing two friendly matches against Gambia and Mali as part of its World Cup preparations. The camp provided head coach Amir Ghalenoei and his staff with an opportunity to assess players’ fitness and further refine the team’s tactical setup ahead of the competition.

 

Under the travel schedule, the team’s flight will make a brief stop in Spain before arriving in Mexico early Sunday morning.

 

Upon arrival in Tijuana, the Iranian players will move into their designated World Cup training base and begin their final preparations before the start of the tournament.

 

With the conclusion of the Antalya camp and the team’s arrival in Mexico, Iran now enters the decisive phase of its World Cup buildup, focusing on fine-tuning its preparations for football’s biggest international event.
