Iran Navy Commander: Strait of Hormuz and Persian Gulf Fully Under Control
WANA (Mar 29) – The Commander of the Iranian Army Navy stated that the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman—considered the gateway to the Strait and the Persian Gulf—is under full control of Iranian forces.
Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, speaking on Sunday to personnel from missile, drone, and air defense units, highlighted the Navy’s operational capabilities.
He noted that during several phases of missile operations targeting the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group, the aircraft carrier and one of its accompanying warships were hit. As a result, U.S. forces were compelled to repeatedly reposition and move hundreds of miles away from Iran’s territorial waters.
He emphasized the full readiness of forces stationed along the Makran coastline, adding that if the carrier strike group enters the range of Iranian missiles, a decisive response will be carried out using various types of coastal defense missile systems.
The Navy commander also referred to the silence of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) regarding possible damage and operational limitations affecting its naval units in the region. He stressed that all movements, positions, and support requests of the USS Abraham Lincoln strike group are being closely and continuously monitored by Iranian forces.
He concluded by reiterating that the eastern Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman remain fully under the control of the Iranian Army Navy, and that the force is prepared to respond to any potential threat.
