Iran-Oman Negotiations on Strait of Hormuz Continue
WANA (Aug 04) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei announced that bilateral talks between Iran and Oman regarding transit arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz are ongoing.
“These negotiations are being pursued as a dialogue between two coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz, focusing on establishing safe outbound and inbound transit corridors for vessels—routes that ensure sovereignty rights while taking into account the national security considerations of both Iran and Oman,” Baghaei stated.
He noted that the discussions at both technical and political levels have been assessed positively thus far. Iran is working in cooperation with Oman to draft the necessary mechanisms for future maritime traffic management in this strategic waterway.
The spokesman added that final outcomes of these negotiations will be announced once conclusions are reached.
