WANA (Nov 04) – On the morning of November 4, streets across Iran—from Tehran to smaller cities and towns—were filled with rallies that participants described as a symbol of “national resistance against domination.” From the early hours, students, university youth, and families gathered to mark the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance, an annual event rooted in the history of the Iranian Revolution and commemorating the 1979 takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran.

In the capital, the march began at Palestine Square, with a large crowd moving along Taleghani Street toward the site known as the “former Den of Espionage” (the former U.S. Embassy). The main slogan of the day—“United and steadfast against arrogance”—was echoed on placards, posters, and in chants. Amid the crowd, Iranian flags waved beside images of those killed in the recent twelve-day conflict, while students carried handmade rocket models as a symbol of national strength.

Along the route, booths displayed mock-ups of Iranian missiles and centrifuges—exhibits organizers described as signs of the country’s defensive capability. A “symbolic tribunal” featuring effigies of Western political figures was also held. Participants staged mock funerals and signed petitions in support of children affected by the war in Gaza, underscoring the political message of the event.

At the close of the rally, Iran’s Coordination Council for Islamic Propagation issued a resolution stressing active deterrence, reviving economic governance, and countering what it called the enemy’s cultural invasion.

Observers at the event noted the diversity of participants—from small children to students and university attendees—and said this year’s gathering highlighted both remembrance of recent casualties and reflection on the political and cultural consequences of so-called arrogance. Some participants said their presence was a response to what they described as regional violence and war crimes.

Organizers announced that similar rallies were held in other provinces with widespread public participation, focusing on national independence, protection of domestic interests, and national unity. Field reports indicated broad turnout and symbolic displays centered on defense and technological capabilities.

Photos and videos from the rallies showed various symbolic and visual performances designed to highlight Iran’s technological and defensive achievements, which organizers described as a sign of resistance and domestic capability.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, addressing demonstrators in Tehran, stated that “America’s hostility toward Iran did not begin with the embassy takeover; it is a historical deception.” He added: “Don’t think that the slogan ‘Death to America’ was crafted in a think tank; it is the cry of a nation long oppressed by domination.”

Highlighting the importance of independence in foreign policy, Ghalibaf said: “A country that lacks independence has nothing—no national dignity, no credibility, and no lasting progress.” He warned that “the spread of despair and self-deprecation by media tied to global powers is a deadly weapon of arrogance against nations,” stressing that “the Iranian people will never trade their independence for any concession.”

Meanwhile, in the open session of Iran’s Parliament, lawmakers joined the nationwide commemoration by chanting “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” reaffirming their solidarity with the message of the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance.
