Iran Opens 14th and 15th Cold Plasma Wound Clinics in Bushehr
WANA (Feb 14) – Iran inaugurated its 14th and 15th cold plasma-based wound treatment clinics in the southern province of Bushehr. The 14th clinic opened at Shohaday Khalij Fars Hospital in Bushehr, and the 15th at Cheroumi Burn Hospital in Bandar Ganaveh, in a ceremony attended by Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, and other senior officials.
The clinics use cold plasma technology to treat chronic wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, in a safe and non-invasive manner. Eslami said the Atomic Energy Organization has focused on two main areas: cancer treatment, progressing successfully through clinical trials, and chronic wound therapy, delivering promising results for patients. The aim is to expand these centers into regional specialty hubs.
Eslami also highlighted Iran’s achievements in nuclear medicine, noting that 72 radiopharmaceuticals are produced domestically, with 20 more in development, providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and palliative care for over 1.5 million people. He emphasized that health, food safety, and energy remain top priorities for the Atomic Energy Organization.
The new clinics mark a significant step in providing advanced, non-invasive care for chronic and treatment-resistant wounds in southern Iran.
