Iran Post Wins APPU 2025 Innovation Award
WANA (Dec 04) – The National Post Company of Iran has won the 2025 Innovation Award of the Asia-Pacific Postal Union (APPU) for its “Nomadic Post” initiative at the 12th APPU Postal Business Forum, currently underway in Bangkok, Thailand.
During the event, Iran Post presented two innovative projects—“My Postal Assistant” and “Nomadic Post”—both of which received strong interest from postal managers and experts across member countries.
In the APPU Innovation Competition, member states were evaluated for technological advancements and improvements in postal operations, products, and services. Iran Post introduced “Nomadic Post” as a successful national model for delivering postal services to the mobile nomadic population.
The project uses a “dynamic postal code” system to provide services at the seasonal settlements of nomadic communities. It has been recognized as an important step toward communication equity, geographic identification, supporting nomadic economic activities, and enabling online sales of their products. Evaluators praised the project for improving access to government, financial, commercial, and logistics services for nomadic groups.
The Innovation Award and certificate were presented to Mohammad Ahmadi, Deputy Minister of Communications and CEO of Iran Post, by Vinaya Prakash Singh, Director General of the APPU.
Iran’s second project, “My Postal Assistant,” was also highlighted as a smart solution for improving public access to postal and administrative services by integrating service channels and reducing the need for in-person visits.
The 12th APPU Postal Business Forum is being held in Bangkok with participation from representatives of over 40 member countries, postal operators, logistics companies, and digital economy stakeholders worldwide.
