WANA (Mar 20) – Iran’s permanent mission to international organizations in Vienna has criticized remarks made by the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, regarding the location of Iran’s nuclear materials and facilities, calling the statements “deeply concerning.”

In a message posted on X, the Iranian mission said Grossi’s comments about the location of nuclear materials and facilities are a violation of confidentiality, arguing that the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive safeguards information provided by member states constitutes a breach of the IAEA Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and the agency’s statute.

The statement added that such actions could entail international responsibility for the agency, stressing that the IAEA must act professionally, respect the confidentiality of sensitive information, and maintain its technical and impartial nature.

Iran’s response comes after Grossi, in recent international media interviews, referenced the potential consequences of ongoing conflict while discussing details related to the location and coordinates of Iran’s nuclear facilities and stockpiles.
