WANA (Apr 11) – The Iranian delegation raised strong objections over the U.S. breach of commitments at this stage of the negotiations during a meeting with Pakistan’s Army Chief.

The Iranian delegation, led by Ghalibaf and accompanied by Iran’s Foreign Minister, met and held talks with Pakistan’s Army Chief last night after arriving in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the Iranian side strongly protested what it sees as the Americans’ failure to honor their commitments at this stage of the talks.

Following a U.S. request for a ceasefire, Iran had presented certain conditions for initiating negotiations. These included the release of Iranian assets and the implementation of a ceasefire in Lebanon. The Pakistani intermediary had indicated that the United States agreed to these terms; however, they have not yet been fulfilled.

At the same time, Iran has not remained passive in response to the U.S. breach of commitments and has maintained the status quo regarding the passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz.
