WANA (Sep 27) – The representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the UN General Assembly declared that allowing the Israeli Prime Minister—an individual wanted by the International Criminal Court—to speak at this body is a stain on the forehead of justice and humanity. He stressed that such a war criminal, with hands drenched in the blood of thousands of innocent children, must not be given a platform at the United Nations.

He noted that since its inception, the Israeli regime has been built on occupation, aggression, terrorism, and apartheid, and over the past decades has launched numerous wars and aggressions against all its neighbors and even countries beyond the region. In just the past two years, this regime has attacked Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and Qatar, while openly promoting its so-called “Greater Israel” project, which requires the occupation of even more countries.

The Iranian representative warned that this regime is the main source of insecurity and instability in West Asia and, if left unchecked, will drag the entire region into full-scale war. He underlined the urgent need for the immediate and permanent cessation of Israel’s attacks on Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and other areas.

Referring to the killing of more than 65,000 Palestinians and the wounding of nearly 180,000 in the past two years, he condemned Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon of war and the forced displacement of Palestinians in Gaza as clear crimes against humanity and acts of genocide. He also cited the killing of around 250 journalists during this period, calling it a direct assault on press freedom.

The Iranian envoy described another example of Israel’s aggression as the 12-day attack on Iran in June 2025, which resulted in the martyrdom of over one thousand scientists, senior state and military officials, and hundreds of civilians including women and children. He called this a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of international law, especially the peremptory norm prohibiting the use of force.

He further emphasized that Israel’s claims about the nature of Iran’s nuclear program are baseless pretexts, noting that even the United States has not accepted them, and the International Atomic Energy Agency has never reported any deviation in Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities. He added that Israel’s secret nuclear weapons program is the real threat to international peace and security.

The Iranian representative firmly rejected all old and new accusations against his country, stressing that such fabrications are only intended to cover up the crimes of the Israeli regime—a regime that has systematically and simultaneously committed all four major international crimes: aggression, genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.

He reiterated: “The Israeli regime is inherently founded on aggression, occupation, oppression, apartheid, and terror. Since its creation, this warmongering, expansionist entity has waged dozens of wars and has not only attacked every neighboring country without exception but has also assaulted others across the region.”

He continued: “In just the past two years, this regime has carried out aggressions against Gaza and the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and Qatar. Yet even this has not been enough for the occupying power, as its criminal prime minister recently revealed in his declaration of the delusional plan for a Greater Israel—an expansionist project requiring aggression against at least four additional countries.”

In conclusion, he reaffirmed the full support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and resistance against occupation and aggression. He underscored that Iran will never hesitate to defend its land, people, and vital interests against Israeli attacks.
