WANA (Mar 09) – The head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization said the production and distribution of domestically developed radiopharmaceuticals continue without interruption despite wartime conditions.

Speaking on Monday (March 9), Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said the country’s service delivery in various sectors will continue steadily as in the past. He noted that appropriate planning has been carried out to ensure public services remain operational.

Eslami stated that sufficient raw materials required for production processes have been stockpiled and alternative supply routes have been prepared to ensure that the manufacturing of radiopharmaceuticals continues without disruption and that the treatment of patients is not interrupted.

He added that Iran’s nuclear technology path is inherently continuous because the knowledge and expertise are domestically developed. According to Eslami, despite what he described as repeated attacks by the United States and Israel, services such as the production and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals have not stopped.

Eslami emphasized that in recent days authorities have tried to prevent any disruption to services that directly affect people’s lives, particularly in areas such as healthcare and food security. He said nuclear technology plays a significant role in the health sector and that despite sanctions, patients across the country can still access diagnostic, therapeutic and palliative radiopharmaceuticals at medical centers.

He further said that contingency plans had already been prepared to ensure production continues even under emergency conditions. Raw materials for the processes have been stored in sufficient quantities, he added, and alternative pathways have been arranged to guarantee that the supply of radiopharmaceuticals remains stable and that patient treatment continues without interruption.
