WANA (Nov 26) – Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, expressed Iran’s strong support for Pakistan, offering a “blank cheque” to assist in peace initiatives between Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan.

Larijani wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday that in an interview with Asma Shirazi, he was asked: “To establish peace between Pakistan and India, and between Pakistan and Afghanistan, what are you prepared to do?”

He replied: “Pakistan is very dear and honorable to the Iranian people, and we are prepared to give the Pakistanis a ‘blank cheque’ to help resolve these issues, to be used whenever they deem necessary.”

The interview is scheduled to air tomorrow night at 8:00 PM Islamabad time.

The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council held meetings with Pakistan’s Prime Minister, President, Foreign Minister, Speaker of the National Assembly, and Army Chief during his visit to Pakistan.

Speaking at the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad before a gathering of think tank leaders and regional and international security experts, the Iranian official emphasized that Tehran imposes no limits on cooperation with Pakistan.

He added that, under the directives of Iran’s President, the Supreme National Security Council is working to remove any economic barriers between the two countries.
