WANA (Oct 09) – On Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a statement regarding the efforts to stop the genocide in Gaza and announced that it has always supported any action or initiative that entails stopping the genocidal war, the withdrawal of occupying forces, the entry of humanitarian aid, the release of Palestinian prisoners, and the realization of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.

The text of this statement is as follows:

“Recalling the provisions of its statement dated October 6, 2025 concerning the cessation of the genocide in Gaza, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported any action or initiative that entails stopping the genocidal war, the withdrawal of occupying forces, the entry of humanitarian aid, the release of Palestinian prisoners, and the realization of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.

As a supporter of the legitimate resistance of the Palestinian nation in its pursuit of the right to self-determination, the Islamic Republic of Iran, over the past two years, has employed all its diplomatic capacities—especially at the regional level, within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and also within the United Nations—to exert pressure on the Zionist regime and its supporters to stop the genocide and to withdraw the occupiers from Gaza.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while honoring the memory of the great martyrs of the Resistance, emphasizes the responsibility of the international community to prevent the breach of commitments by the occupying regime, and calls on all parties to exercise vigilance and awareness against the deceit and bad faith of the Zionist regime.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates that the cessation of crimes and genocide in Gaza does not negate the responsibility of governments and competent international institutions to pursue the joint legal, humanitarian, and moral duty of the international community to implement justice through the identification and prosecution of the commanders and perpetrators of war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip, with the aim of ending the decades-long impunity of the Zionist regime.”
