WANA (Jul 08) – The Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has deployed emergency medical and rescue personnel throughout the massive funeral procession in Najaf, reporting a smooth operation with no major incidents.

IRCS Head Pir-Hossein Koulivand described the public turnout in Iraq as unprecedented. “Our teams are fully stationed among the crowds of mourners and remain on high alert to provide immediate medical assistance,” Koulivand stated on Wednesday morning. “Fortunately, no specific issues have been reported so far, and the ceremony is proceeding with immense solemnity.”

Koulivand added that medical personnel are praying for Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei and remain committed to honoring the legacy of the late leader through dedicated public service.

Looking ahead to the afternoon, the IRCS chief confirmed that extensive preparations have also been finalized for the upcoming funeral processions in Karbala.

The Imam Ali Hospital in Najaf, along with several local Red Crescent clinics, are fully staffed with physicians, nurses, and rescue workers to support the influx of attendees across both holy cities.
