Iran Rejects Abduction Claim by Belgian MP “Darya Safai”
WANA (Jul 30) – The Iranian Embassy in Brussels has responded sharply to claims made by Darya Safai, an Iranian-born member of the Belgian Parliament, who alleged that Iran posed a security threat to her.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the embassy dismissed Safai’s accusations, calling them delusional and politically motivated:
“A new cheap & stylish way of playing grandiose & pleasing your genocidal apartheid boss: just act delusional and hallucinate that you were going to be abducted by a phantom enemy, no matter how ridiculous it might appear…”
Darya Safai had earlier posted on X that she had been contacted by Belgian police and security services regarding a serious threat to her safety.
According to her, authorities received alarming information suggesting that Iran intended to kidnap her and take her to Tehran via Turkey. She added that she had been strongly advised against traveling to Turkey.
