Iran Rejects Allegations as Legally Baseless and Politically Motivated
WANA (Jan 23) – The Iranian government has dismissed recent allegations made by U.S. officials as unfounded, legally invalid, and part of a broader psychological and propaganda campaign against Tehran.
Government Spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani stated on Friday that the Islamic Republic of Iran has a clear and longstanding policy of firmly opposing terrorism in all its forms. She emphasized that it is illogical to accuse a country that has itself been one of the main victims of terrorism and has paid a heavy price in combating extremist violence.
According to Mohajerani, Iran’s official position has consistently been the rejection of violence and assassination, and this stance remains unchanged.
She described the recent claims as an unsuccessful attempt to divert international attention from prevailing global realities, adding that such accusations lack both legal and logical credibility and are designed solely to shift blame and influence global public opinion.
Her remarks come in response to recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump, who alleged—without providing evidence—that Iran might be involved in a potential assassination attempt against him, warning of a harsh response. Iranian officials have categorically denied these claims, calling them baseless and irresponsible.
