WANA (May 06) – Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement early Wednesday, May 6, rejecting claims made by officials in Abu Dhabi and warning against the continuation of the UAE’s cooperation with parties hostile to Iran.

In the statement, the ministry condemned what it described as “destabilizing actions by Abu Dhabi’s rulers,” emphasizing that the continued hosting of foreign military bases and equipment could have dangerous consequences for regional peace and stability.

The statement also referred to developments over the past two days, noting that alongside what it called “unlawful and provocative” actions by U.S. forces in the region and their naval movements under the “deceptive” label of humanitarian missions, Emirati officials had engaged in conduct contrary to the principle of good neighborliness and in violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter. According to Tehran, such actions pose a threat to Iran’s national security and interests.

At the same time, Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that the country has exercised “maximum restraint,” adopting a responsible approach aimed at preserving regional stability and the broader interests of the Islamic world.

In another part of the statement, the UAE’s allegations that Iran had launched missiles and drones toward its territory were described as “baseless.” The ministry stressed that Iran’s defensive measures at this stage have been solely directed at countering U.S. threats.

The statement concluded by emphasizing that Iran will take all necessary and appropriate measures to safeguard its national security and interests.
