WANA (Jul 14) – Reports emerged early Tuesday, July 14, of multiple explosions being heard in several areas across southern Iran, including the islands of Kish, Qeshm and Abu Musa, as well as the city of Bandar Abbas.

 

According to local reports, several explosions were heard in Bandar Abbas and Kish around 12:30 a.m. (local time) Further reports indicated that between 12:45 a.m. and 1:10 a.m., multiple blasts were heard across Kish, Qeshm, Abu Musa and Bandar Abbas.

 

At the same time, air defense systems were activated in some coastal areas of Hormuzgan Province to respond to hostile targets. Reports also indicated that explosions were heard in Jask around 1 a.m.

 

Hormuzgan Governor’s Office announced that a projectile struck an area in the western part of Bandar Abbas, but said initial assessments showed no casualties.

 

In Kish Island, the Kish Free Zone Organization said the incident occurred near the island’s port area, while other parts of the island remained safe and secure. The organization stated that no casualties or damage to residential or commercial buildings had been reported.

 

Reports also indicated that several civilian vessels were damaged during the incident in Kish.

 

Meanwhile, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the third consecutive night of U.S. attacks against Iran had begun.

 

Earlier, Iranian sources reported the interception of a U.S. drone in the south of the country. According to these reports, an MQ-1 drone was targeted and destroyed by Iranian air defense systems in the Strait of Hormuz.

 

The Hormuzgan Governor’s Office also denied reports of a missile strike on Lavan Island, stating that no incident had occurred there.
