Iran Responds to Allegations Made by UK Intelligence Chief
WANA (Oct 17) – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London has strongly rejected recent anti-Iranian remarks made by the Director-General of the UK’s Security Service (MI5), describing the claims as “baseless and irresponsible.”
In a statement, the Iranian Embassy denounced the allegations made on October 16, 2025, which accused Iran of involvement in so-called “deadly plots” and “cross-border hostile actions.”
“The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran expresses its strong objection and categorical rejection of these unfounded and hostile statements,” the statement read.
“Such baseless accusations are part of a continued effort to distort Iran’s policies and undermine bilateral diplomatic relations.”
The Embassy further emphasized that Iran firmly denies any involvement in violent acts, kidnappings, or harassment of individuals in the UK or elsewhere, stating that the claims were made “without credible evidence” and contradict Iran’s ongoing commitment to international law, sovereign equality, and peaceful coexistence.
The response came after the MI5 chief alleged that UK security forces had disrupted 20 operations linked to Iran over the past year — a claim Tehran has dismissed as part of an ongoing campaign of misinformation.
The Iranian Embassy urged the UK government to “refrain from making or escalating baseless accusations” and instead pursue a “responsible and constructive approach based on dialogue and mutual respect” to address shared security concerns through legal and diplomatic channels.
The statement concluded by reaffirming Iran’s readiness for dialogue and its commitment to international norms and peaceful international relations.
