WANA (Jul 18) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry has reacted on X to what he called the European Union’s hypocritical and selective approach in response to Israel’s military aggression against Syria.

 

Ismail Baghaei, the Foreign Ministry spokesman, criticized the EU External Action Service’s recent statement, which referred to Israel’s military attack as “an escalation of tensions on Syrian territory.”

 

He wrote: “The European Union has described Israel’s blatant military aggression as ‘an escalation of tensions on Syrian soil,’ thus abandoning even the pretense of commitment to moral principles.”

 

Baghaei further stated: “This is a clear example of distorting reality and concealing complicity under the guise of diplomacy.”

 

He continued: “Iran, with a proud record of standing against aggression and unlawful behavior, categorically rejects selective approaches and double standards. As always, we stand with the Syrian people and firmly support Syria’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
