Iran, Russia and China Submit Joint Letter to IAEA
WANA (Feb 18) – The ambassadors of Iran, Russia and China to the international organizations in Vienna met with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency to discuss recent developments related to Iran’s nuclear program. The meeting concluded with the submission of a joint letter emphasizing trilateral coordination and continued engagement.
The permanent representatives of the three countries reviewed the latest status of Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities. During the meeting, they presented a joint letter to the IAEA chief reflecting the aligned positions of Tehran, Moscow and Beijing regarding ongoing developments in Vienna.
Although the full contents of the letter have not been made public, its timing suggests a coordinated effort to preserve a technical framework of cooperation with the Agency and to prevent further political escalation surrounding Iran’s nuclear file. The move also sends a clear signal of continued consultation and alignment among the three countries amid potential future discussions at the IAEA Board of Governors.
