WANA (Aug 26) – Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced that Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin met today (Tuesday) in Moscow with Iran’s Ambassador Kazem Jalali to discuss bilateral military cooperation as well as key international and regional security issues.

 

According to the ministry’s statement, the two sides exchanged views on existing aspects of military cooperation and its future prospects.

 

They also discussed major security concerns at both the regional and international levels, including the situation in the South Caucasus.

 

Deputy Defense Minister Fomin expressed gratitude to Ambassador Jalali for his significant contributions to the development of Russia–Iran relations.

 

For his part, Ambassador Jalali highlighted the dynamic and diverse nature of military cooperation between the two countries and reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to further strengthening these ties.

 

The statement added that the meeting took place in a friendly and trusting atmosphere, with both parties confirming their mutual commitment to expanding strategic cooperation between Moscow and Tehran.
