WANA (Sep 08) – The Iranian men’s and women’s national wushu teams claimed the runner-up title at the 17th World Wushu Championships in Brazil, earning a total of six gold, two silver, and two bronze medals across both sanda and taolu categories.

 

Returning to the global stage after a six-year absence, Iran achieved one of its most valuable results in recent years.

 

Among the standout athletes, Zahra Kiani, Sedigheh Daryaei, Soheila Mansourian, Shahrebanoo Mansourian, Erfan Mehremi, and Mehdi Moradi each secured gold medals. Shoja Panahi and Mohsen Mohammadseifi won silver, while Shahin Bani-Talebi and Soheil Mousavi earned bronze.

 

China topped the medal table with 16 medals, followed by Iran in second place, with Malaysia and Hong Kong ranking third and fourth, respectively.
