Iran Seeks a Rational Agreement That Safeguards National Interests
WANA (May 28) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs said the Islamic Republic is pursuing an agreement based on logic and national interests, stressing that the United States is now more in need of negotiations than ever.
Kazem Gharibabadi said on Thursday that last night’s U.S. action was met with a firm response from Iran’s armed forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, describing the move as a clear violation of the ceasefire.
He added that what matters to Tehran are the official messages and declared positions received from the other side, noting that any proposal inconsistent with Iran’s national interests would naturally be unacceptable to the country.
The deputy foreign minister also emphasized that Iran remains committed to reaching an agreement, but one that is grounded in rationality, mutual respect, and the protection of the country’s national interests.
