WANA (Mar 27) – Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, has submitted separate letters to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the President of the United Nations Security Council, protesting the actions of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait.

In the letters, Iravani objected to the three countries for allowing their territory and airspace to be used by the United States and Israel for military operations against Iran.

He outlined specific instances and stated that, based on monitoring and assessments by Iran’s armed forces, attackers have continued to use the territory and airspace of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar to plan, prepare, equip, and carry out unlawful military strikes against the Islamic Republic.

The letters emphasized that, under international law, states bear responsibility if their territory is used for acts of aggression or armed attacks against another country.

Iran expressed its “strong and unequivocal protest” over these actions and called on the three countries to adhere to the principles of good neighborliness and prevent the continued use of their territory against Iran.

While reaffirming its commitment to good neighborly relations and respect for the sovereignty of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar, Iran stated that it reserves the right to take all necessary and appropriate measures, including exercising its inherent right of self-defense, to protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence.
