Iran’s Most Impressive Showing in History

This marks the most successful performance by Iran in World Para Athletics history. Previously, Iran had never won more than six golds in a single edition (2006 in the Netherlands), with four golds achieved in the two prior editions. Achieving nine golds demonstrates the team’s remarkable performance relative to its size.

A notable highlight of this year’s championships was the athletes’ display of respect and patriotism, including saluting the Iranian flag after winning medals — a gesture reflecting their dedication and the pride they place on representing Iran on the global stage.
