WANA (Nov 04) – The latest exhibition organized by Jihad-e-Daneshgahi (Academic Jihad) was held from November 1 to November 3, 2025, at the Plan and Budget Organization of Iran, showcasing Iran’s genuine scientific and technological power. The event was attended by several officials, including President Pezeshkian.

The exhibition showcased various technological advancements in fields such as engineering, medicine, agriculture, and social sciences, including indigenous virus therapy, cancer diagnostics, hybrid seeds, and health monitoring systems for national institutions.

Iran on the Cutting Edge of Medical Science

The medical and biotechnology section stood out as one of the exhibition’s highlights. Jihad-e-Daneshgahi unveiled an indigenous gene therapy and targeted oncolytic virus therapy platform for treatment-resistant cancers — a major stride toward scientific self-sufficiency.

Notable innovations such as the OncoMed recombinant adenovirus, a microfluidic biopsy-staining chip, and targeted magnetic nanoparticles for tumor imaging underscored that Iranian science is a producer, not just a consumer, of advanced technology.

Another breakthrough, the “tumor-on-a-chip” system for testing anti-cancer drugs, illustrated how Iranian researchers are merging academic research with real-world applications in biomedicine.

Reproductive Biotechnology and Wildlife Conservation

In reproductive biotechnology, the unveiling of the National Infrastructure for Preclinical and Safety Assessment of Advanced Pharmaceutical Products marked an important step toward international scientific standards.

One of the exhibition’s most remarkable achievements was the creation of an Iranian cheetah embryo through cloning — a pioneering effort to preserve one of Iran’s most endangered species. Advanced laboratory tools developed by young researchers at the Royan Research Campus, from oocyte cryopreservation systems to intelligent incubators, were also on display.

New Steps in Administrative Security and Organizational Health

In the humanities and social sciences, Jihad-e-Daneshgahi presented innovative governance tools such as the Intelligent Administrative Health Observatory and a Comprehensive Transparency and Conflict of Interest Management System for national organizations. These systems aim to enhance data-driven decision-making and organizational transparency, paving the way for more accountable governance structures.

Scientific Independence in Agriculture

In the agricultural sector, researchers achieved success in developing hybrid vegetable seeds, advanced greenhouse cultivation systems, and high-efficiency liquid fertilizers. The registration of new seed varieties — such as lettuce, greenhouse cucumbers “Sovin” and “Sulin,” and five leading tomato hybrids — marks Iran’s steady progress toward agricultural self-sufficiency.

Through collaboration with international partners, including NGS Company of Spain, Jihad-e-Daneshgahi has advanced closed hydroponic cultivation systems and three types of liquid fertilizers, contributing significantly to the goals of resilient and knowledge-based economic growth.
