WANA (Oct 29) – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Japan issued a strong statement condemning recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who, during his visit to Japan, once again praised Washington’s military attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities earlier this year.

In a message posted on the social platform X, the embassy wrote: “The renewed pride of the U.S. President in an overt act of aggression against Iran, as an independent country, once again confirms the clear violation of the fundamental principles of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and the NPT (Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons).”

The statement added: “What he said only strengthens the necessity of holding those responsible for this crime accountable at the international level for their actions.”

Referring to the broader implications of Trump’s remarks, the embassy continued: “This recklessness is concerning, because under the guise of ‘peace through strength,’ it provides a clear excuse for warmongers around the world who seek to unleash their ‘beautiful weapons’ to create chaos and reap the harvest of death — all in the name of establishing peace.”

The statement concluded: “Our era has turned completely upside down, where force, crime, and lawlessness are sanctioned under the sacred name of peace.”

The embassy’s reaction followed Trump’s comments in Tokyo, where he claimed that by bombing Iran’s nuclear sites, he had prevented the country from acquiring nuclear weapons within two months, asserting that “this is no longer the case.”

In late June, the United States, following the Israeli regime’s attacks, targeted three key nuclear sites in Iran, Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan in coordinated airstrikes, claiming the operation was intended to help “end the conflict between Iran and Israel.”
