Iran Speaker Rejects Rubio Remarks as “Unrealistic American Dream”
WANA (Apr 01) – Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, has responded to comments made by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, rejecting his remarks as “misleading” and calling them an unattainable vision.
Rubio had suggested that Iran could have been a different country if it had spent its resources on its people rather than weapons, describing an alternative path for the country’s development.
In response, Ghalibaf wrote on X: “If they didn’t spend on weapons…”
He added, “It would’ve been so beautiful… Then we could’ve gone in, seized all their oil fields in 48 hours -48 hours, believe me- armed the Israelis with the best weapons, and created many, many new Gazas. The real “American Dream,” folks. NEVER!”
