WANA (Apr 23) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has strongly condemned Israeli attacks against Lebanon, pointing to continued violations of the ceasefire understanding and underscoring what he described as the direct responsibility of the United States in the current situation.

Esmaeil Baghaei said on Thursday that the attacks, which targeted residential homes and key infrastructure in affected areas, were “terrorist acts” and should be unequivocally denounced.

Referring to what he called ongoing and “serious breaches” of the ceasefire arrangement, Baghaei urged the international community and the United Nations to take decisive action to hold Israel accountable for its actions in occupied Palestinian territories as well as in Lebanon.

The spokesperson also condemned what he described as the killing of journalist Amal Khalil from Al Akhbar, calling it a “brutal act” and part of a broader effort to silence voices reporting the truth.

He extended condolences to her family, the media community, and the people of Lebanon, and wished a swift recovery for photographer Zeinab Faraj, who was injured in the same incident.
