WANA (Nov 20) – Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a strong condemnation of aggressive attack by the Israeli regime on the city of Sidon and the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain al-Hilweh.

The strike targeted the grounds of a mosque and a sports hall, resulting in the death and injury of several Palestinian refugees.

Baghaei called the attacks a “flagrant violation” of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law.

He noted that the Israeli regime has “repeatedly violated” the November 2025 ceasefire, and emphasized what he called the United States’ “direct responsibility” for enabling continued Israeli assaults against Lebanon and other countries in the region.

The spokesperson also criticized what he described as the “complicit silence” of ceasefire guarantors—particularly the United States—in the face of ongoing Israeli violations and military aggression against Lebanon.

He urged the United Nations and the international community to take serious action to halt Israeli attacks and to hold the perpetrators accountable.

Offering condolences to the families of those killed and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured, Baghaei reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s full solidarity with the government, people, and resistance of Lebanon.
