WANA (Sep 09) – In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemned Israel’s criminal military attack on Qatar and its attempt to assassinate Palestinian leaders, while expressing condolences for the deaths of several Palestinian and Qatari citizens during the assault.

The statement added: “This terrorist attack, which constitutes a flagrant violation of the principles of the UN Charter and fundamental rules of international law, as well as a blatant aggression against Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, is yet another clear sign of the dangerous and terrorist nature of a regime that, while committing genocide and mass killings in the occupied Palestinian territories, has expanded its aggression to the entire region—posing an unprecedented threat to regional and global peace and stability.”

The Foreign Ministry stressed that without doubt, the United States government and other political, financial, and military supporters of Israel are complicit in these crimes and must be held accountable for the regime’s ongoing violations and atrocities.

The statement further expressed Iran’s solidarity and support for the government and people of Qatar in the face of Israel’s brutal aggression, underscoring the urgent need for the UN Security Council, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other relevant international bodies to address this hostile act. It called on the international community and regional countries to take concrete steps to curb Israel’s warmongering and to stop the ongoing genocide in the occupied Palestinian territories.
