WANA (Jul 29) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a statement strongly condemning aggressive strikes launched by the United States and Saudi Arabia against several regions in Iraq, including facilities belonging to official Iraqi institutions as well as stations and processions set up for Arbaeen pilgrims.

 

The ministry described the attacks as a blatant violation of Iraq’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling them a grave breach of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the United Nations Charter and fundamental principles of international law.

 

Tehran asserted that these actions align with the broader ambitions of the United States and the Israeli regime to expand the scope of war and conflict across the West Asia region.

 

Expressing deep condolences over the death of several Iraqi citizens during the strikes, the Iranian Foreign Ministry reaffirmed Iran’s full solidarity and support for the government and people of Iraq.

 

The statement concluded by holding the belligerent US administration and its regional accomplices fully responsible for the dangerous consequences of these criminal, inhumane, and provocative actions.
