Iran Submits Latest Negotiation Proposal to Pakistani Mediator
WANA (May 01) – The Islamic Republic of Iran has announced the delivery of its latest negotiating proposal to Pakistan, acting as the mediator for talks with the United States, with the primary goal of ending the ongoing conflict.
The text of the proposal was handed over on Thursday evening, April 30, following intensive diplomatic efforts.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei emphasized in a televised interview last night that “the termination of war and a lasting peace” remain Tehran’s top priorities in any engagement with Washington.
The current diplomatic push follows a complex timeline of conflict and ceasefires:
February 28, 2026: Hostilities broke out between Iran, the U.S., and Israel following the assassination of the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, and several high-ranking officials during the 40-day “Ramadan War.”
April 7, 2026: A two-week ceasefire was established to allow for diplomatic solutions.
April 21, 2026: The ceasefire was extended indefinitely by the U.S. President.
Direct negotiations previously took place in Islamabad on April 11, led by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and U.S. Vice President JD Vance. While those talks concluded without a final agreement, diplomatic channels have remained open through Pakistani mediation
